Rosie and Clara's Simple 3rd Birthday Puppy Party
It's hard for me to imagine that my twin babies just turned three. In many ways, the last three years have been so life-changing that I hardly remember a time before them, but when I think of them as my baby girls, I get a little sentimental about this big birthday.
To celebrate, we hosted a simple dog-themed party in our backyard. We had to postpone the party once due to fevers, but thanks to some antibiotics and lots of rest, they were ready to celebrate a week later.
They each had their own letter balloons ("C for Clara!", she yelled!) - a tradition we've continued since their second birthday, and a very small way to add a personal touch for each of them since they were sharing their birthday.
We had a balloon artist and face paint. The first creations were dogs (on theme), but swords were way more fun. :)
The kids played parachute games and limbo - so simple and classic.
We had snacks (Pirate's Booty - the girls' favorite, among others) and a hot dog bar. I served snacks in dog food bowls I picked up at our local Home Goods. I love serving food in these trays, rather than plates, for kids. They hold the food well, and are easy to fill and carry.
In lieu of cake this year, we opted for cupcakes, topped with miniature dogs.
I added a personal touch with custom napkins made on Shutterfly.
We sang the birthday song for each of them. That look!
